Golden Arrows have resumed their training in preparations for the upcoming 2016-17 season.
Arrows coach Clinton Larsen guided Abafana Bes’thende to a ninth place finish on the Absa Premiership table last season, falling short of a top eight spot.
Golden Arrows confirmed the news on their website with a statement, ‘Abafana Bes’thende have begun their pre-season training program, with the drive being on building their fitness and core strength of the players after their break.’
‘Each player was supplied with a fitness program for the off-season, and this has ensured that the 2016-17 season training can get under way with the players being at a high level of fitness rather than the coaching staff having to build them up before trying to get them to their true potentials.
‘The first week of training will focus on cardiovascular work as well as general core fitness of each player. It’s an intensive program that involves both gym and field work geared at ensuring that they build their fitness.
‘Each player will go through a series of tests and be given a set of exercises to build up shortfalls they may be having. The physical trainer is confident that this will give the team a great stamina boost come the beginning of the new season.’
