Golden Arrows and Free State Stars will be participating in the 14th edition of the Uthukela Mayoral Cup at the AG Magubane Stadium in Ladysmith.

The tournament consists of four teams and is set to take place on July 17 as part of their pre-season build-up.

The teams taking part in the competition this year include Arrows, Stars, Uthukela Squad and Ukhahlamba Local municipality Squad.

According to the Golden Arrows website the competition is a great platform to test out combinations of players for the technical team ahead of the Absa Premiership season.

It’s a great competition that gives back to the community in that the players’ coach local children while there as well as showcasing their skills during the games.

The draw was as follows:

Ukhahlamba Local municipality Squad v Uthukela Squad – 09:00 (semi-final)

Free State Stars v Lamontville Golden Arrows – 11:00 (semi-final)

semi-final winner 1 v semi-final winner 2 – 15:00 (finals)
