Stellenbosch FC coach Steve Barker says his team is in “good spirits” ahead of their DStv Premiership encounter against SuperSport United on Friday evening.
The Maroons will come into this fixture after claiming a 3-2 victory over Orlando Pirates in their last league encounter in December.
Stellies currently sit in fourth place on the log with 26 points from 15 games, trailing SuperSport by three points with a game in hand over their next opponents.
Barker says they are well prepared as they look for a positive result against United at the Lucas Moripe Stadium.
“Preparations have gone well for this evening’s match,” Barker told his club’s official website.
“We’re really eager to get back on the playing field after not having played for a while. I believe we’ve prepared well over the last couple of weeks and the team is in good spirits.
“It’s also good to welcome Jayden Adams back after his succesful trip with the national team. He’s raring to get back on the field for us and make an impact.
“We have good momentum coming into this match from the previous four wins in a row we recorded in the league, so it’s important to start 2024 on a real high with a big performance and a good result against a difficult opponent.
“Confidence is high that we can achieve that and preparations have been good, so now it’s just time to get on the field and execute.”
