Baroka coach Kgoloko Thobejane reveals that he is on the hunt for a ‘lethal striker’ following the departure of Thabiso Kutumela to Orlando Pirates.
The 22-year old striker joined the Buccaneers after finishing the NFD off as the league’s top scorer with 18 goals.
Thobejane insists that Bakgaga have to bolster their attacking options upfront by signing a deadly striker.
‘In every department we need man power and we have a team. We had players who were on loan who will return to the clubs,’ Thobejani told KickOff.
‘And what we are thinking is to have more man power so that we can have depth in our team. But in particular our team needs a lethal striker… one who can score goals and nothing but scoring goals. Because it is where the problem lies in most cases.’
Thobejane went on to say that Kutumela made a wise choice when he opted to join the Sea Robbers on a three-year contract.
‘It was a wise move because it is up to him to choose where to go at and it is not us who can decide on his behalf,’ adds Thobejane.
‘So it is very important to be just open to say “I want to go” and then it was a good move for him.’
This season Baroka were crowned National First Division champions after finishing the league with 60 points and gaining automatic promotion to the Absa Premiership for the 2016-17 season.
