Cape Town Spurs coach Shaun Bartlett has been reassured that he has the full backing of the club despite their poor start to the DStv Premiership season.
Bartlett recently came under fire after the Urban Warriors suffered four straight defeats in their first four matches in the DStv Premiership.
Spurs fell to a narrow 1-0 defeat to TS Galaxy in the league opener, a 2-0 loss to Sekhukhune United in the match that followed, then a 3-1 defeat to Polokwane City and most recently a narrow 1-0 loss to Chippa United.
Despite recent reports surrounding his future, the club has given their full backing to Bartlett with the hopes of turning their fortunes around in the league.
“Although our results have been disappointing, Coach Shaun Bartlett has the full support of the Cape Town Spurs FC board,” Spurs said in a statement.
“We ask that people respect that Shaun has a contract with the club and refrain from making unfounded statements in the media to gain cheap publicity for their own personal benefit.”
