Baxter to give Bhengu another go – agent

Agent Lizwe Mthethwa insists that SuperSport United coach Stuart Baxter will give his client Phumelele Bhengu another chance at regular playing time.

The 26-year-old, who joined SuperSport on a three-year deal in the beginning of last season from Thanda Royal Zulu after ending the National First Division as the top scorer with 22 goals.

However, the midfielder was restricted to playing in United MultiChoice Diski Challenge during the 2015-16.

Bhengu’s agent says that Baxter spoke to him and told him that his client will be joining the squad for their pre-season tour in Spain.

‘Stuart Baxter has told him he is going with him to Spain for a pre-season camp because he has improved,’ Mthethwa told KickOff.com.

‘He said the club is aiming for the league title next season and if they win the league or finish second they will obviously play in the Caf Champions League so he can’t go.

‘He turned down Highlands Park. But you never know what will happen… it is still early and let’s see because he’s left with two years.’
