Mamelodi Sundowns star Khama Billiat has admitted he is intrigued by the prospect of a move to Europe next season, despite being happy at the club.
The player, who recently picked up the Absa Premiership’s Footballer of the Season award, is rumoured to be linked with a yet unspecified French outfit.
Billiat, however, remains committed to Downs, and is eager to impress with the side in the Caf Champions League. The Absa Premiership champions were gifted passage to the group stage of the tournament following the disqualification of AS Vita.
‘I would love to go and play in Europe but I will see,’ says Billiat, who is reportedly contracted to the Brazilians for another two seasons.
‘If I don’t go to Europe I am still happy at Sundowns.’
The player is confident his side can improve following their away-goals loss to AS Vita at the previous stage of the competition.
‘I am looking forward to the Caf Champions League. We have another chance. We learnt our lessons, I am sure now mentally we should be strong.
‘We have learnt lessons that we should score goals at home … and we want to do better.’
Pitso Mosimane’s men face Algeria’s ES Setif in their first clash of the group stage on June 17.
Billiat netted 12 goals and contributed 14 assits across all competitions for Sundowns this season.
