Brockie welcomes SSU backing

SuperSport United striker Jeremy Brockie expresses his gratitude towards the club following the announcement that he is not for sale.

Matsatsantsa have announced that they will not be selling the 28-year-old striker, following reported suggesting that he is on Mamelodi Sundowns wanted list.

The New Zealand international says that he appreciate the announcement made by his club and insisted that he is looking forward to having more success with the club in the 2016-17 season.

‘It makes one feel good and that one is appreciated and needed at the club,’ Brockie told KickOff.com

‘I’m very happy here and would like to achieve more success as I work with a fantastic bunch of lads.

‘I mean, if you look at the energy we showed during the second half of the season … no-one expected us to do so well but we did. We won the Nedbank Cup and secured a top eight spot.’

Brockie believes with a coach of Stuart Baxter calibre at the club, he sees no reason why Matsatsantsa cannot build on their Nedbank Cup success.

‘We have a winning coach in Baxter. He has shown this in the past before with Chiefs,’ he added.

This season the striker finished the season as SuperSport’s top goal scorer with 18 goals from 37 appearances in all competitions.
