Cape Town City owner John Comitis believes that midfielder James Brown will bring versatility and creativity to the club’s attacking force ahead of the new season.
The Cape Town-based club announced the signing of the Australian international on Monday after he agreed to a two-year deal at the club.
Comitis insists that Brown will be a great addition to the squad as he brings his versatility, pace, and experience to the Cape side.
‘Brown is another addition of an extremely attacking player, who offers plenty of versatility and creativity. He had the privilege of playing for Melbourne City, so his experience and his speed will be a big asset for the team,’ Comitis said in a press release.
The former Melbourne City midfielder began his professional career at the Queensland Institute of Sport, before joining the Australian Institute of Sport.
He has also played for the Australia’s youth development system at U17, U20, and U23 level and Comitis insists that there is no question about his talent.
The club owner went on to say that he is delighted to have Brown join his project.
‘Brown is the darling of the Australian league, there are only a few players of aboriginal descent, of which he is one of them. We are happy to have him in South Africa,’ he added.
The 26-year-old only arrived a week ago seems already very impressed with his new home.
‘It’s a beautiful city, beautiful landscape, beautiful scenery, beautiful people as well,’ Brown said.
During his career in Australia, Brown has scored 10 times in 82 appearances playing for the like of A.I.S, Gold Coast Utd, Newcastle, and last season for Melbourne City.
