The PSL rivalry in Cape Town is heating up as Ajax Cape Town and Cape Town City prepare for the 2016-17 Premiership season.

The two club’s were set to meet for a pre-season friendly on Tuesday but the match has been scrapped after the PSL newcomers, Cape Town City, opted out of the fixture.

‘Part1: Our training match scheduled for Tuesday, 9 August against Cape Town City has been called off by them… #AjaxCT #Pre-Season’ tweeted the Urban Warriors on Monday.

‘We will therefore play Atlantic Nacional instead at Parow Park, 10h30 kick-off #AjaxCT #Pre-Season.’

It will be a rivalry to watch as the season two clubs do battle for the support of the Cape Town public.
