Kaizer Chiefs have denied that they have entered talks to sign Chippa United wing Thabo ‘Jomo’ Rakhale.

Rumours have been circulating that the Amakhosi are interested in bringing the former Orlando Pirates man to Naturena.

Rakhale spent three seasons at Pirates before moving to Chippa in January.

It is reported that Chiefs face an exodus following the departure of Steve Komphela. Players such as Bhongolwethu Jayiya, William Twala, Edmore Chirambadare, Keagan Buchanan, Brilliant Khuzwayo and Sibusiso Khumalo have struggled for game time and could move on in search of more minutes.

Rakhale’s agent Mandla Mthembu told IOL that ‘Rakhale is still contracted to Chippa. Every club that is chasing his signature must call Chippa United’.

Communications manager at Amakhosi Vina Maphosa looked to distance the club from any rumours before the end of the season.

‘I don’t have any information. The season is still on. We will talk about players that are leaving and players that coming in the next few weeks, when the season is finished.

‘I can confirm that yes, like we said in the statement, there will be a lot of changes. But we will call a press conference to address them when the time is right,’ concluded Maphosa.
