Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune insists his side are focused on exceeding expectations for the 2016-17 season following a trophyless 2015-16 season.
The Glamour Boys finished the 2015-16 season trophyless and ultimately lost out on both the MTN8 and Telkom Knockout cups in the finals while finishing fifth in the Absa Premiership.
The 29-year-old is aware that the club and supports will expect more from Amakhosi during the new season.
‘I just want to say to all the Kaizer Chiefs faithful’s that we thank them very, very much for being patient and for your support throughout the years,’ Khune told KC TV.
‘We know this past season has not been a season that we can be proud of, but we want to put it behind us now and focus on the 2016-17 season.
‘We are looking forward to making them proud of their team.’
The Bafana Bafana shot-stopper made a total of six clean sheets from 21 appearances in all competitions for the Soweto giants last season.
