Kaizer Chiefs have withdrawn from the race to sign Chippa United midfielder Thamsanqa Sangweni, according to reports.

The Glamour Boys have reportedly showed interested in singing the 27-year-old but his asking price was too high for Amakhosi’s liking, according to a source close to the player.

‘Chiefs were really interested in Sangweni, but the asking price is too high and it seems they have pulled out of the race,’ the source told Goal.

Sangweni impressed last season with for the Chilli Boys after appearing 20 times and scoring one goal across all competitions, helping his side to a sixth place finish in the Premiership; their highest ever finish.
