Chippa United have announced the opening of the merchandise store in Port Elizabeth in conjunction with technical sponsor Canterbury.
The Chilli Boys and technical sponsor Canterbury are now taking the relationship to the next level by with the joint venture of the opening of store at The Sun Boardwalk on Friday.
The club’s executive chairman Siviwe Mpengesi says he feels proud to have opened a club merchandise store in partnership with Canterbury and says he is grateful to the Boardwalk give given them space to set up shop.
‘This is again a fantastic milestone for a growing brand like Chippa United, and we would like to thank our partners, Canterbury for being true to their word.
‘Our supporters have been longing for an opportunity to walk into a shop and buying Club’s merchandise,’ Mpengesi said.
‘We thank the Boardwalk for their generosity, in giving us space. We are extremely proud of this latest initiative between ourselves and Canterbury.’
Mpengesi says he is confident that the club’s technical sponsor will help strengthen the Chilli Boys brand in South African football.
‘Our ambition as Chippa United Football Club is to be one of the most recognisable football brands in South Africa and beyond. We are certain that our relationship with Canterbury will help to strengthen this cause, and of course, strengthen our ties going forward.’
‘It is a new path for us as a football club and before the end of the season we will meet with all the partners involved to review the progress.’
The launch ceremony to be attended by the entire squad will commence at 15:00
