Club Brugge manager Philippe Clement has revealed the reason behind Bafana Bafana star Percy Tau’s omission from their match day squad during their 4-0 thrashing of Zuite Waregem on Thursday evening.

The former Mamelodi Sundowns star was initially part of Clement’s 22-man squad for the clash against Waragem but was left out of their 18-man match day squad.

Tau last played against title-rivals Gent on Sunday but was taken off just 35 minutes into the match.

However, Clement later disclosed that the Bafana star was left out of the squad due to family commitments and not footballing reasons.

‘Percy is not there because of family circumstances,’ Clement told the club’s official Twitter.

Tau will be hoping to get back into the squad when they take on Ajax Amsterdam on 11 January.
