Al Ahly coach Pitso Mosimane has urged former Kaizer Chiefs coach Gavin Hunt to come and test the waters in North Africa after making history in South Africa.
Hunt has enjoyed an illustrious coaching career in South Africa winning eight major trophies, including four league titles, but currently finds himself without a job after leaving Chippa United in November last year just month after his run as Amakhosi boss ended.
The former Bidvest Wits coach took to Twitter over the weekend to declare he “misses being pitchside”.
The 57-year-old’s post was not missed by fellow South African coach and former rival Pitso Mosimane, who was quick to call for Hunt to join him in North Africa.
“Gavin Hunt, big respect for you,” Mosimane replied in a quote tweet. “You have won all SA trophies. History archived. Come feel the waters in this region where am I (tough though) & you might like it.
“When we have a day off, I will ask my friend’s yacht to take us over the Mediterranean for fishing and dolphin watching.”

Seemingly open to the idea, Hunt jokingly responded by asking Pitso to get him a job.
“I am dying to come there! Get me a job,” he wrote. “I am so proud of all you’ve achieved. I see the results every week, so happy for you. Get that yacht ready, Pitso!”
