Ajax Cape Town coach Roger de Sa says the sales of promising youngsters Abbubaker Mobara and Riyaad Norodien to Orlando Pirates is part of what the club is about.

Orlando Pirates announced the double deal on their website this morning, while they also announced the addition of Ghanaian forward Bernard Morrison.

‘It is what it is,’ de Sa told KickOff, who denied he had any hand in the sales.

‘I don’t do the selling hey, I do the coaching. It’s one of those things, you know. You don’t wanna stand stop the players form bettering their careers and their lives.’

De Sa admitted selling players is often a necessary step for a club of Ajax’s stature.

‘At the same time you open the path for other players to come through. As you know Ajax is a development club.

‘The club has to make ends meet to survive. It’s tough on the club as well but it is what it is.’

Ajax finished in 10th place in the Premiership this past term and will have an uphill battle to maintain or indeed improve upon that feat.
