Ajax Cape Town coach Roger De Sa says he rues his side’s missed chances following their 2-1 defeat against Bidvest Wits at Cape Town Stadium on Wednesday.
The Urban Warriors suffered their fourth defeat in the Absa Premiership, despite taking a 1-0 advantage into the half-time interval of their match against the Clever Boys.
De Sa believes his side’s missed opportunities could have changed the complexion of the match, which would’ve allowed them to secure their first victory in the Absa Premiership this season.
‘Obviously disappointed; I think we had a couple of chances to wrap it up,’ De Sa said.
‘I think Prince [Nxumalo] forced one very good save from Keet, and then the miss when he was one-on-one, I mean, those are the chance we’ve got to take.
‘But when it’s not going for you, that’s what happens. We don’t take our chances there, they come on the other side and [score from] a rebound, reflection, whatever.
The 52-year-old has praised his side’s performance but has lamented the amount of injuries that have overcome his squad this season.
‘They [my players] always give it their all and have a full go [but] it’s just not falling for them right now, to be honest,’ he added.
‘They’ve just got to keep on working, There’s nothing else you can do. There aren’t many options, there aren’t many players available to us and we have to work with what we have, keep on believing and keep on going.’
Ajax Cape Town against SuperSport United kicks off at 20:15.
