Gauteng High Court deputy judge Roland Sutherland dismissed Royal AM’s latest application for leave to appeal on Friday night, with the Premier Soccer League then announcing that the playoffs will kick off on Saturday.
As a consequence of the judge’s decision, Sekhukhune should remain GladAfrica Championship winners and qualify directly for next season’s DStv Premiership league, while Royal AM should be heading to the playoffs.
Royal AM, though, are still not willing to give up and claim they will appeal the decision again.
The Premier Soccer League has since confirmed that the playoffs will begin on Saturday afternoon.
