Daouda Diakite will remain in South Africa until he departs for national duty with Burkina Faso following his release by Free State Stars.
The 33-year-old’s contract with Ea Lla Koto was mutually terminated on the same day the club parted ways with his countryman Robert Sankara, who has since joined Bloemfontein Celtic, reports KickOff.com
The former Lierse SK goalkeeper spent the last two season at Ea Lla Koto after joining from Gabonese side CF Mounana in 2014.
Diakite’s representative Michel Sinha confirmed that he has left Stars and will listen to offers for the Burkina Faso shot-stopper.
‘Diakite will be still in the country until he leaves for national team duty as he has already received an invitation to join camp. He is available for now as there was a mutual agreement to go separate ways at Stars,’ Sinha said.
‘We are just waiting for offers for now as he is still keen to remain in South Africa though if that fails we will pursue other options.’
During his two-year stint at Stars, Diakite kept 14 clean sheets from 29 appearances in all competitions.
