Chelsea and Ivory Coast great Didier Drogba was full of praise for Pitso Mosimane and labelled him as one of the best coaches in Africa following his success at the Fifa Club World Cup.
Drogba was present at the tournament in the United Arab Emirates when his former club Chelsea defeated Brazil’s Palmeiras 2-1 in the final to lift the Fifa Club World Cup trophy.
At the same time, Mosimane would guide Al Ahly to their second straight bronze medal after thrashing Al-Hilal 4-0 in their third/fourth-place playoff match this past Saturday.
The Chelsea great praised the former Mamelodi Sundowns coach for his exploits during the Club World Cup while stating that ‘Jiggles’ has proven his worth as a coach in Africa.
“The first time we have an African team in this competition like Al Ahly and I think they deserve the third place, they had a good game,” Drogba told FilGoal.
“And good for the manager as well, because he’s been winning trophies as well.
“He’s been winning trophy after trophy and to do that in a different country is not always easy.
“He did it and he proved that he’s one of the best coaches on the continent.”
