Mamelodi Sundowns and SuperSport United headline the weekend’s action of the MTN8, while Bidvest Wits take on Orlando Pirates in the quarter-finals.

Bidvest Wits will host Orlando Pirates in a highly anticipated quarterfinal clash at the Bidvest Stadium on Saturday.

The Clever Boys are coming off a 2-1 win over Kaizer Chiefs in their first Absa Premiership game of the new season.

The Clever Boys have lifted the title twice as the BP Top 8 Cup but they are yet to win it since MTN began sponsoring the competition in 2008.

Meanwhile, Pirates will be targeting a place in the Cup’s semi-finals when they lock horns with Wits in Braamfontein.

The Buccaneers are oozing with confidence after defeating Golden Arrows at the Orlando Stadium.

The Soweto giants, Pirates and Chiefs are the two most decorated clubs in the Top 8 Cup. The Buccaneers have won it nine times, while Amakhosi have 15 titles.

Platinum Stars and Chippa United are set to renew their rivalry in the MTN8 quarter-final when they meet at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium.

Dikwena will be boosted by the fact that they won their first match in the Absa Premiership this season.

Their 1-0 win over SuperSport United at home came as a huge motivator as they welcome the Chilli Boys and will want to win their second MTN8 crown since 2013.

Cavin Johnson will hope to see his experienced guns such as Vuyo Mere, Robert Ng’ambi, and Henrico Botes lead by example.

Meanwhile, the visitors are also coming into the game on a high after their 2-1 win over Free State Stars on Tuesday.

The win has boosted the team’s morale and the coach Dan Malesela’s men are making their debut appearance in the competition.
