Talented 16-year-old Jake Aresti has completed a deal to Dutch Eredivisie side PEC Zwolle from SuperSport United.

The youngster, who had been on a series of trials with the club, began training with the side in an official capacity  from August 1.

Having only turned 16 in June, the starlet will have to wait two years until he turns 18 before he is eligible to make his debut with the side. Nevertheless, the investment by the Netherlands club suggests they envision the youth to be a first team player in the future.

Aresti is the latest in a string of South African stars to have made the move to Europe from SuperSport’s academy. The player has been preceded by the likes of Dean Patricio, Miguel Dias and Kamohelo Mokotjo, all of whom have tread the now familiar path.

Aresti, who has both a South African and English passport, began training with SuperSport at the age of 13. The youngster had previously trained in various soccer schools under the tutelage of his father, Nick Aresti, since the tender age of five.

Aresti began his first spell of training with the Dutch club in December later year, before being invited back to the club for further training between March and May this year.
