Kaizer Chiefs coach Steve Komphela is pleased with midfielder Hendrick Ekstein’s work-rate during training ahead of the 2016-17 season.
The 25-year-old featured in both the Carling Black Label Champion Cup and the FAME Charity Cup for Amakhosi during the past two weeks.
Komphela insists that Ekstein is working hard to improve his performance and is showing real dedication to earn himself a regular spot in the Amakhosi first team.
‘He has always been a good player. It’s only now that he is starting to be more serious and you can see the amount of work he puts in,’ Komphela says.
‘I’m sure everybody has seen what he can give and it will only benefit us.’
Since being promoted to the Chiefs senior team in 2014, Ekstein has featured in a total of 17 matches in all competitions while scoring once in the process.
