Orlando Pirates began their new campaign with a convincing 3-1 victory on Wednesday but coach Muhsin Ertugral insists there is more to come.
Tendai Ndoro starred for the side as the as the forward hit a hat-trick to dismantle opening day opponents Golden Arrows. The coach believes, however, that his side has much to improve upon.
‘We wanted that [win] but we have a lot of work to do. I must say that it is a marvelous team to work with, it is one of the best teams I’ve worked with in my career,’ Ertugral told KickOff.
The coach praised the individual players at his disposal as well as their technical and tactical assuredness, particularly in the second-half to the match.
‘We need to be a little more patient with the team, there is a lot of potential in this team and I think we will go a long way,’ added the coach.
‘We need to know when to pressurise so there are a lot of elements and a new pattern for the boys. But I must say the way these boys are taking it I enjoy every training session.’
Ertugral concluded by explaining the side had done a lot of work behind the scenes following their disappointing display in the Carling Cup.
Pirates’ next match sees them take on Bidvest Wits in the MTN8.
The match wil be played at the Bidvest Stadium on Saturday.
Kick-off is at 20:15.
