Orlando Pirates coach Muhsin Ertugral has confirmed the signing of defender Thembela Sikhakhane from Golden Arrows.
The 23-year-old would be part of the squad that travelled to Namibia for Pirates pre-season preparations and was set to pen a deal with the club, according to KickOff.com.
Sikhakhane featured for the Buccaneers during their 3-1 penalty victory over Platinum Stars in the Bokone Bophiriwa Maize Cup on Saturday.
The Buccaneers mentor has confirmed that Sikhakhane has signed for the club and will help strengthen the Sea Robbers defence ahead of the new season.
‘Yes, he has signed,’ Ertugral said.
‘He is a good player and that’s why we signed him.’
Over the course of the 2015-16 season, Sikhakhane had featured in a total of 28 matches in all competitions for Abafana Bes’thende.
Orlando Pirates will now welcome Arrows to the Orlando Stadium for their Absa Premiership opener on August 24.
Kick-off has been set for 19:30.
