Orlando Pirates boss Muhsin Ertugral has praised club icon Oupa Manyisa following his performance against Golden Arrows.
Manyisa played the full 90 minutes as the Buccaneers cruised to a 3-1 victory in their Premiership opener and impressed in central midfield for the side despite having missed most of last season through injury.
‘I think we don’t even discuss his qualities. We know what we can do, I’ve watched him in the previous years,’ Ertugral told KickOff.
‘During the pre-season we played him 90 minute matches always, so he was really on his toes. In one week he had 14 kilometres more than the last couple of weeks and you could see he is coming.’
Ertugral explained that Manyisa has been upping his fitness level in recent weeks and was now looking back to his best. The coach also explained he was pleased by Manyisa’s combination play in the centre of the park.
The combination with him, Edwin Gyimah and Mpho Makola was great,’ he concluded.
Pirates will take on Bidvest Wits in the sides’ MTN8 quarter-final clash at the Bidvest Stadium on Saturday.
Kick-off is at 20:15.
