Orlando Pirates captain Oupa Manyisa insists the match went as planned following their 3-1 victory over Golden Arrows at the Orlando Stadium on Wednesday.
The Buccaneers got their Absa Premiership campaign off to a positive start after striker Tendai Ndoro scored a hat-trick against Abafana Bes’thende.
The 28-year-old says that the match went as planned and he insists that the team has to stay grounded and focus on their next match against Bidvest Wits in the MTN8 quarter-finals on Saturday.
‘It felt good, everything went according to plan. We worked as a team. We must forget about these three points and think about our next game now,’ Manyisa said after the match.
Manyisa insists that the Buccaneers played as a unit and have produced on the field what they learnt during training.
‘We told ourselves we have to know the coach well and welcome the new players so we that we can work as a team. It was a positive thing because what we have been doing at training, we did today on the field,’ he added.
Manyisa will be hoping to make up for lost time after spending most of last season sidelined with an ankle injury and could only manage to feature five times for the Sea Robbers in all competitions.
Kick-off has been set for 20:15.
