Roger Feutmba is confident of a Mamelodi Sundowns revival under coach Pitso Mosimane following their heavy MTN8 final loss.
The Brazilians were shocked 3-0 in the showpiece final by Gavin Hunt’s Bidvest Wits side but Feutmba believes the upset will prove to be little more than a bump in the road of what is set to be another successful season.
‘I am hundred percent behind Pitso to turn it around because in football, you know it’s not about how you start, but how you finish,’ the former Sundowns midfielder told Goal.
‘Remember last season when Sundowns won the league, we didn’t start well, but we finished very strongly. So it’s about the entire team and not about one man,’ he explained.
The Cameroonian has urged the side to reinvigorate themselves and recover their focus ahead of the Caf Champions League final in a week’s time as the outfit has been showing signs of weariness in recent matches.
‘These days some of their players are a little bit exhausted because of the many matches, but they just have to refresh their minds and focus on the upcoming games,’ Feutmba concluded.
Sundowns will welcome Egyptian powerhouse Zamalek to the Lucas Moripe Stadium for the first-leg of the 2016 Caf Champions League final on Saturday, October 15.
Kick-off is at 15:00.
