Bloemfontein Celtic have joined a list of Absa Premiership clubs chasing the signature of former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Philani Cele.

The 24-year-old winger became one of 20 players to be released by Amakhosi after failing to make regular appearances for the club.

Cele has recently been linked with a move to Golden Arrows and Maritzburg United, while NFD side Royal Eagles have also shown interest, according to reports.

An impeccable source close to the player has informed Goal that Celtic are plannig a mvoe for Cele.

‘Well, at this stage Celtic are still considering signing Cele, but there are other clubs which also showed interest in him. Everything will be clearer in the next few weeks,’ the source said.

The winger spent the whole of the 2014-15 season on loan at Moroka Swallows but only made five NFD appearances for the Dube Birds before returning to Amakhosi at the end of that season.
