Former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Stanton Fredericks has encouraged Amkhosi to sign Sibusiso Vilakazi from Bidvest Wits.
The Glamour Boys confirmed that they will part ways with as many as 20 players during the off-season.
The 26-year-old playmaker has been linked with a move to Chiefs, with Absa Premiership champions Mamelodi Sundowns also believed to have shown interested in the midfielder.
Fredericks believes that the Wits playmaker would be the perfect fit for the Soweto giants.
‘I think Sibusiso Vilakazi’s time at Bidvest Wits has come to an end and if he is looking to move and I was making decisions at Kaizer Chiefs, I would definitely snap him up,’ Fredericks told Goal.
‘It is not going to be easy because obviously there are negotiations, but Vilakazi will fit in like a glove [at Chiefs].
The former Bafana Bafana midfielder believes the Soweto giants needs to sign a playmaker to replace Reneilwe Letsholonyane, while also signing players in attack and defence.
‘I think Chiefs must get a playmaker, reinforce the midfield and defence. Maybe he [coach Steve Komphela] will play a different formation with Reneilwe out the side,’ Fredericks added.
‘Definitely Chiefs need to make some signings in midfield. I think they can add a striker or two as well.’
This season Vilakazi has help Bidvest Wits to a second place finish on the Absa Premiership table scoring nine goals and picked up four assist from 31 appearances in all competitions.
