Kaizer Chiefs defender Lorenzo Gordinho says he is confident he can reach Steve Komphela’s set target of scoring five goals this season.
The 22-year-old defender has already made six appearances in all competitions so far this season playing alongside Eric Mathoho in the heart of the Amakhosi defence.
Gordinho revealed that Komphela has set him a target of scoring five goals this season and he is confident he can achieve this target having already scored two.
‘The coach gave me a target of five goals and it’s looking good. I can achieve that target,’ Gordinho told the Daily Sun.
The former Chiefs youth product believes the team’s turnaround in form was due to the pressure been lifted off of them and he says that they are starting to enjoy their football again.
‘Coach Steve is getting his message across to the players and got us fighting for success. We all understand what he wants from us,’ he added.
‘The reason things are starting to look good is because we have taken that pressure off our shoulders and go out and enjoy the game without any pressure.’
Kaizer Chiefs face Ajax Cape Town at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in the Absa Premiership on Saturday.
Kick-off has been set for 18:00.
