According to reports newly promoted Premiership side Highlands Park have identified Morgan Gould and Katlego Mashego as transfer targets for next season.
Both players could join the side on a free as they are widely expected to be released by the end of the month from their clubs Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns respectively.
Meanwhile, Highlands will be grateful to make additions to squad which is composed of few players with any Absa Premiership experience.
Mashego in particular is highly likely to join owing to his close connections with Highlands Park director Larry Brookstone, who was the director of Silver Stars during Mashego’s time at the club.
Given that Highlands Park is based in Gauteng, a move to the club would not necessitate a major upheaval for the two players as both already reside in the area. The respect wages of the stars, however, are more likely to be a stumbling block.
Neither Gould nor Mashego received significant game time last season as the pair made just nine and 12 appearances respectively.
