Bidvest Wits defender Sifiso Hlanti looks set to return this weekend after picking up a knee injury during Bafana Bafana’s Africa Cup of Nations campaign in July.
Wits coach Gavin Hunt revealed before the start of the season that the left back was seriously injured while on national team duty in Egypt, and his club expected to keep him on the sidelines for most of the season.
But after having keyhole surgery for a meniscus tear in his knee, the defender has rejoined first-team training with the initial prognosis seemingly way off the mark.

Wits travel to Eswatini this weekend to face Young Buffaloes in the first leg of their African Confederation Cup second-round tie and club officials have confirmed that Hlanti could feature.
Hunt said earlier that his team will not be placing all their eggs in the Caf Confederations Cup basket. He will likely play a much-changed team for the clash, which would allow him to give one of his star men a solid run as he continues his injury comeback.
