Bidvest Wits coach Gavin Hunt believes the return of striker James Keene will strengthen his side’s attacking options even further in the new year.
The English striker is still on the road to recovery after suffering a long-term knee injury which he sustained during the 2016-17, in which he scored eight goals from 14 appearances in all competitions.
Hunt says he will remain hopeful the return of Keene will boost his side’s attacking force, with Phakamani Mahlambi already back into the first team after his injury layoff.
‘Hopefully, we will get James Keene back, he will make a huge difference up front. Phakamani [Mahlambi] is just coming back now, and one or two others will come in as well,’ Hunt said after the match.
‘It should help strengthen our team, certainly, we need one or two others in other areas.’
Bidvest Wits will next welcome Ajax Cape Town to the Bidvest Stadium when the two side’s meet in the Absa Premiership on February 7.
Kick-off has been set for 19:30.
