Bidvest Wits striker Phakamani Mahlambi insists that it is unlikely that he would leave the Clever Boys for another Absa Premiership club.
The 18-year-old made a sizable impact last season, his blistering pace, skill and finishing prowess seeing him being linked with a move to one of the big clubs in Gauteng, reports the Bidvest Wits website.
Reports suggest that Portuguese giants Sporting CP and Benfica have shown interest in the striker.
Mahlambi says will not play for any other PSL team but Wits, however, he insists that the only possible way for him to leave the club would be to play abroad.
‘To be honest, I won’t play for any team in the country currently. I can say possibly after many years to come when I come [back] from Europe,’ Mahlambi said.
‘There’s no use to leave now because I’m playing and I’m happy. Look, I’m still young and what I need is to play and enjoy my football.
‘I don’t want to make things difficult for me, I don’t see myself playing for any team in the present moment other than Bidvest Wits.’
During the 2015-16 season, Mahlambi was restricted to only play 14 games for the Students after suffering a cruciate ligament rupture, although the striker managed to score four times while creating three assists.
