Midfielder Keagan Buchanan insists he is aware of the pressure that comes with playing for a club the stature of Kaizer Chiefs.

With the 2016-17 Absa Premiership campaign rapidly approaching, the 24-year-old was one of eight players unveiled by Amakhosi in the hopes of putting their disappointing 2015-16 season behind them.

The midfielder revealed that is was always a dream of his to play for big Absa Premiership club like Chiefs.

‘I’m humbled by this opportunity to play for a big club like Chiefs,’ he told KickOff.

‘I’m in awe as I know it’s every player’s dream to play for Chiefs and it was mine since I was a little boy.’

However, the former FC Cape Town player insists that he is aware of the pressure that comes with wearing the number 10 jersey at a team like Chiefs.

‘I’m well aware of the pressure that comes with a club like Chiefs. I also know I have big boots to fill with the number 10 jersey.

‘Chiefs legends like the late Shoes Moshoeu and Shakes Kungwane all wore the jersey with great aplomb.’

Before moving to Chiefs, Buchanan appeared 12 times for Bloemfontein Celtic creating one assist, but a knee injury kept him sidelined for most of the 2015-16 season.
