Ajax Cape Town goalkeeper Jody February says Anssi Jaakkola’s move to English Championship side Reading was a good move for everyone.

The 29-year-old shot-stopper completed his transfer to Reading on Monday, signing a two-year deal with The Royals.

February believes that with Jaakkola heading back to Europe, either himself, Brandon Peterson or Darren Johnson can secure the number one jersey at Ikamva.

‘Yeah, I’m happy for Anssi,’ February told KickOff.com.

‘It’s a win-win for everyone. It’s a good opportunity for myself. It’s going to be up to me how that works and what I put in.’

The South African U23 shot-stopper went on to say that he has learnt a lot from Jaakkola during his time at the club and believes it will benefit him in the future.

‘His professionalism and approach to each training [session] and game, that I learnt from him and it will benefit me,’ he added.
