Maritzburg United defender Bevan Fransman says he will put his emotions aside when he takes on his former club Bloemfontein Celtic in their opening Absa Premiership clash at Dr Molemela Stadium on Wednesday.

The 32-year-old joined the Team of Choice on a two-year deal at the end of last season and has now reunited with former coach Muhsin Ertugral at United, reports KickOff.com.

Fransman says it will be business as usual for him despite facing his former team in their opening Absa Premiership match.

‘It’s going to be interesting, it’s my former team and emotions aside, I will go there and do the business,’ Fransman said.

‘I’m going to be my usual self on the field and lead from the back and try to get the team as organised as I can. If someone needs pepping up, I will do it.’

During his two-year spell at Celtic, Fransman scored once and featured 59 times in all competitions.

Kick-off has been set for 19:30.
