Mamelodi Sundowns veteran Teko Modise insists that it is vital for the Chloorkop-based side to secure the services of head coach Pitso Mosimane.
The 51-year-old coach guided the Brazilians to the Telkom Knockout and Absa Premiership title during the 2015-16 season, winning the league by 14 points ahead of second place Bidets Wits.
After their reinstatement into the Caf Champions League, Sundowns won their opening Group B match following a 2-0 victory over ES Setif at 08 Mai 45 on Saturday.
The 33-year-old believes the former SuperSport United coach has proven himself to be a real asset at Sundowns since his appointment in 2012.
‘We all know what Pitso has achieved at Sundowns in a space of three to four years,’ ‘The Navigator’ told KickOff.com.
‘I think he has won four trophies. So I think the management knows that as much as everybody knows that. He is there at training every day. He is still as ambitious as ever and wants to win the Champions League.
Modise insists that it is important to hold on the coach and players who guided Chloorkop to a domestic double.
‘I think coach Pitso will be the same coach whether he stays or he doesn’t. It’s important for the team to keep him and it’s important for the team to keep the players that have been there last season so we can have continuity,’ he added.
