Ajax Cape Town goalkeeper Anssi Jaakkola has signed for English Championship side Reading for an undisclosed fee.
The 29-year-old recently extending his contract with Ajax and it seems as if the Urban Warriors has activated a clause in Jaakkola contract and cashed in on their keeper, reports KickOff.com.
A source has confirmed that the Finnish shot-stopper will be joining Jaap Stam’s Reading side.
‘Everything happened very fast but yes, Anssi is gone and will be joining Reading,’ the source said.
‘It obviously helped that Sander and Jaap played together for Holland.’
Jaakola will now link up with his new teammates for their pre-season tour to Holland on Sunday.
Last season, the Finland international made 32 appearances for the Urban Warriors in all competitions, keeping seven clean sheets in the process.
