Bafana Bafana star Andile Jali was arrested over the weekend for allegedly driving while under the influence of alcohol.

The former Orlando Pirates midfielder is back in the country in search for a new club following the end of his contract with KV Oostende in the Belgian Pro League.

Mamelodi Sundowns, Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs are all interested in securing Jali’s signature, but would such an incident scare off potential suitors?

Bafana Bafana confirmed the news in a statement on it’s Facebook page on Monday.

The statement revealed that Jali was nabbed at a roadblock in Hatfield and was allegedly 15 times over the legal limit, clocking 0.78 on the breathalyser.

According to the Sunday Sun, Jali spent the night in jail on Saturday and was subsequently released on Sunday on R1000 bail.

The midfielder was reportedly driving his personalised Jali 15 GP white Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT and was in the company of a male friend when he was arrested.
