Orlando Pirates captain Happy Jele has stressed the importance of winning their two remaining games in the Absa Premiership this season.
The Buccaneers will be hoping to end their five-year trophy drought and claim the PSL title if they can overcome Cape Town City and Polokwane City in their last two league fixtures.
Milutin Sredojevic’s men current sit at the summit of the league standings with 53 points from 28 matches played, with Mamelodi Sundowns their closest challengers in second place at 50 points, although they have a game in hand over Pirates.
The experienced defender has urged his teammates to remain calm and focus on claiming maximum points in their remaining matches.
‘It’s very important to get results from the last two games,’ Jele told The Citizen.
‘We are challenging for the championship, so we just need to be calm, focused and work harder.
‘So that we can manage to get the results that we need at the end of the season.’
Orlando Pirates will now travel to Athlone Stadium when they take on Cape Town City in their penultimate Absa Premiership clash on Saturday, with kick-off set for 3pm.
