Cape Town City defender Robyn Johannes says he is looking forward to being back in the squad after spending five weeks on the sideline through injury.
The 30-year-old will now make his second appearance for his new club after he was ruled out for a number of weeks with an injury he sustained in a friendly match.
Johannes says he feels good to be back in the City squad and will be hoping his side can walk away with a positive result on his return for the club.
‘It’s a good feeling to know I’m starting, it’s been five weeks of hell (with injury). We have to make sure it’s a positive result after coming off a disappointing one (a 2-1 loss to Baroka),’ Johannes said.
‘They are a very good team, very good coach, with dangerous players. Where they are on the log in the league does not really concern us because we know how good they are.’
The former Orlando Pirates defender says he is excited to be plying his trade in the Mother City again and is relishing the chance to make his first start for the club.
‘Very excited (to play for a Cape Town team) – it’s been 12 years since I made my debut, I moved from the city when I was pretty young, so good to be back home, I was very excited when I moved back and I’m looking forward to my first start,’ he added.
Cape Town City against Bloemfontein Celtic kicks off at 19:30.
