Platinum Stars coach Cavin Johnson is delighted with the condition and progress Dikwena are making ahead of the new season.

The 57-year-old coach told Platinumstars.com he is happy that players are in good conditions and that they are looking forward to the 2016-17 season.

‘The players are in good shape. They came back looking good. Everybody looks fine. You know it’s time for flu so we have one or two players out but they are okay,’ said Johnson.

Johnson has eight young players a chance to make their debuts this season, including Gift Links, Siphiwe Mnguni, Sphamandla Mlilo, Kamogelo Mathe, Sipho Senne, Katlego Khunou and Tsireletso Lesabane.

‘Of course, the young boys are exciting. I look at the training and how they are doing. They are very eager to play and I am happy that the youngsters are showing a lot more enthusiasm than everybody else,’ he added.

‘A lot of the experienced guys are looking forward to the season too. The younger guys are looking to have real experience in the PSL. We are hoping to get them all on the same level. We hope for the team to gel together so that we are able to give everybody an opportunity to play in the PSL.

The former SuperSport United coach believes the youngsters will bring a new dimension to the squad and will help Dikwena build on the future.

‘The youngsters are bringing another dimension in that they will show the North West Province that we are building and are looking to promote our players from the province. We do have talent and it’s going to show this season. We are going somewhere in the future.’

The club has since acquired the services of Henrico Botes, Benson Shilongo, and Thobani Kunene.
