Maritzburg United chairman Farook Kadodia has revealed that the club’s vision for this season is to finish in the top eight of the Absa Premiership and to play in a cup final.

The Team of Choice will be hoping for a high finish to the 2016-17 season and are currently placed eighth on the Absa Premiership standing with 19 points from 15 matches played.

Kadodia insists that his side are aspiring of finishing within the top eight of the Absa Premiership and will be hoping to end their season on a positive note by reaching a cup final.

‘We have assembled a good team and set our aspirations on a high level. That level was not to do better than last year but to achieve. That means ending the season high in the top eight and playing in a cup final,’ Kadodia told the Maritzburg United website.

‘That is the vision and aspirations of the club because that would be the ideal thanks to our supporters that stood behind us last season.’

When the Absa Premiership returns, Maritzburg United will face Polokwane City on February 8.

The match at the Peter Mokaba Stadium kicks off at 19:30.
