Kaizer Chiefs sign Virgil Vries

Kaizer Chiefs have completed their fourth signing of the transfer window with the acquisition of former Baroka goalkeeper Virgil Vries.

This comes after the major clear-out at the club, which saw  Keagan Buchanan and Tsepo Masilela headline the exodus at Naturena.

The Soweto giants soon after completed the signing of sought-after Mamelodi Sundowns star, Khama Billiat in addition to two other players in Letlhogonolo Mirwa and Andriamirado Andrianarimanana.

In recent comments made to the media, Chiefs manager Bobby Motaung revealed that a move for a back-up goalkeeper was on the cards after former second-in-command Brilliant Khuzwayo parted ways with the club and signed for cross-town rivals Orlando Pirates.

Vries, who recently parted ways with Bakgaga, was previously spotted training with former PSL champions Bidvest Wits, however he was seen training with Chiefs upon the resumption of their pre-season training on Monday.

Chiefs took to their official twitter account, in addition to releasing a statement on their website to publicize details of Vries’ contract with the club.

The 29-yeear-old is expected to play second-fiddle to Bafana Bafana number one Itumeleng Khune.
