Polokwane City striker Esau Kanyenda has confirmed that he signed a new one-year deal with Rise and Shine.

The 33-year-old veteran joined Rise and Shine in 2012 on a free transfer after his contract at Danish side Boldklubben expired.

Kanyenda has since spent four seasons with the club and helping them gain promotion to the National first division in 2012 before winning promotion to the Absa Premiership the following season.

The Malawian striker confirmed that he will remain at the club for another year after extending his contract with the club.

‘I will be staying on at the club as I have been given a one-year extension,’ Kanyenda told KickOff.com.

Although the veterans involvement with the club has be limited this past season, Kanyenda featured 17 times for City and scored twice in all competitions.
