PUMA has signed a partnership with Karla Victor one of the rising stars of netball in South Africa.

Victor, a first-year student at the University of the Free State, was the youngest player in the Telkom Netball League last year playing for the Free State Crinums while still a scholar at Oranje Meisieskool in Bloemfontein where she captained the first team.

She is also part of the South African U21 team which competed in the Netball World Youth Cup 2025 Africa qualifiers in March, securing a spot as one of the 20 countries at the World Youth Cup in Gibraltar in 2025.

Victor, who plays in the PUMA Accelerate NITRO SQD netball shoe, said he was attracted to PUMA because: “Seeing athletes like national team star Khanyisa Chawane adorned in their stylish apparel, inspired me to aspire to that level and prompted me to express to my mom my dream of one day also representing PUMA.”

The rising star has excelled at the highest levels of youth netball, including being named best centre court player at the SA Telkom U19 Championships two years in a row. Last year Victor was captain of the SA U18 Fast Five netball team and the flag bearer at the Commonwealth Youth Games in Trinidad and Tobago.

“Having been part of the thrilling World Cup in 2023, PUMA remains committed to supporting the development of netball in South Africa. So, we are proud to partner with Karla, who is one of the most exciting young talents in SA netball and part of a new generation of stars to follow in the footsteps of stars like retired national team captain Bongi Msomi,” said PUMA South Africa Marketing Director Brett Bellinger.

Victor shared words of advice for other young netballers: “Your dreams are worth pursuing, no matter the challenges you may encounter along the way. Stay determined, believe in yourself, and persistently pursue your passions. Remember that every obstacle is an opportunity to grow stronger and more resilient.”
