With Kaizer Chiefs star Willard Katsande on the verge of acquiring his South African Permanent Residence Permit, the club now has an open foreigner slot. 

The Glamour Boys midfielder is close to finalising the process of registering as a local having spent six years in South Africa. The 30-year-old originally hails from Zimbabwe.

The Amakhosi currently have the likes of Lewis Macha (Zambia), Edmore Chirambadare, Mitchell Katsvairo (both Zimbabwe) and Camaldine Abraw (Togo) on their roster for the 2016-17 season in addition to Katsande. The Amakhosi have already signed eight players for the first team this transfer window, but will be looking to continue to bolster the squad that finished a disappointing fifth on the Premiership log last term.

Whether or not coach Steve Komphela opts to bring in another foreigner over the next few weeks remains to be seen.
